12:30 – 5 p.m. EST

Register soon: Training is limited to 18 participants.
Action methods, adopted from Psychodrama, can be used to warm up a group to art making. Other action techniques can be used to substitute for verbal sharing to enhance the meaning after art-making. By sharing in action, the client is able to deeply explore the meaning for themself, or find unexpected connections with the group participants. This experiential workshop will teach participants how to integrate action techniques with the therapy/art therapy including warm-up, directing spontaneous art-making, and sharing art pieces in action. The various applications in both individual and group therapy can be practiced or discussed.
You will learn and practice:
- Directives for spontaneous exercises/drawings to build the creativity for therapeutic work
- Ways to use action methods to embody art work
- The techniques of Role Playing and Role Reversal
- Adaptations of these techniques to individual and group work
