Zerka Moreno

Zerka Toeman Moreno, collaborated with her late husband Dr. JL Moreno who developed psychodrama. She was a key trainer at the Beacon Institute where people came from all over the world to study this original form of group psychotherapy. After Morenos death in 1974 Zerka continued to travel throughout the world to teach and demonstrate psychodrama. She has been especially noted for bringing psychodrama to interested clinicians and educators in Europe and Asia, including China, Taiwan and Japan. She has trained thousands in the use of action methods until her retirement, in her mid 90s, in 2014. She is the author of innumerable articles on psychodrama, sociodrama and human relations. She is also the author of The Quintessential Zerka: on Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy, , New York, Routledge, 2006 and Psychodrama, Surplus Reality and the Art of Healing Routledge 2014 (reprint).
