Expressive/Creative Arts Therapy Track
Psychodrama was one of the original forms of creative arts therapy that include art, dance, drama, poetry and music therapies, sand-tray as well as multi-modal expressive therapy. Its focus on creativity and expression allows techniques from one to blend seamlessly with the other, informing, expanding and deepening the work with individuals and groups. Learning to integrate psychodrama into their work, creative and expressive arts therapists can develop skills as group facilitators and discover ways to embody the client’s expression and communication. For psychodramatists, learning to use other creative arts modalities during the three stages of a psychodrama session (warm up, action and sharing), can expand options and spontaneity.
