Wisdom Figures—known in different models as the Wise Mind (DBT), the Self (IFS), or the Autonomous Healing Center (Psychodrama)—are not simply conceptual constructs, but embodied roles that can be accessed, developed, and experienced through action. In spiritual or existential language, they may appear as Higher Power, Buddha-Nature, or the Light Within. Wisdom figures may be real people (alive or dead), characters from literature or the movies, animals or forces of nature. In psychodrama, these figures become alive through movement, voice, posture, and relationship. Many individuals struggle to access internal wisdom due to the absence of reliable, nurturing role models or because past experiences have disrupted their sense of inner guidance. This experiential session invites participants to explore how Wisdom Figures can be discovered or co-created through actual relationships, symbolic figures, or imaginative sources. Using deep interviewing and role reversal, participants will actively engage in the process of developing a Wisdom Figure and experiencing its presence in action. Emphasis will be placed on sensing, embodying, and dialoguing with this role, allowing insight and guidance to emerge through lived experience rather than interpretation. Applications for both individual and group work will be demonstrated and practiced.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:
• Experience and describe the difference between deep interviewing and interviewing for role through action-based practice
• Use role reversal to support the emergence, embodiment, and strengthening of a personal Wisdom Figure
• Apply experiential psychodramatic techniques to help individuals access internal guidance, grounding, and compassionate truth
