OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS
HVPI is NOT responsible for overnight accommodations. Please make your own reservations directly with Boughton Place or at a nearby motel.
ON-SITE AT BOUGHTON PLACE
Boughton Place, where the trainings take place, offers limited overnight accommodations for
$50 a night for a shared room and $65-95 for a private room.
The Theater contains 6 bedrooms that sleep one, two or three people. One single bedroom is
on the ground floor. The rest are on the second floor. There are 3 bathrooms, 2 with showers,
as well as an outdoor shower in the warm weather. There is a full kitchen. The cost is $50 for
a shared room, $65 for a single room.
The Annex has two recently renovated bedrooms on the second floor, each with one queen
size bed, and a shared bathroom. The first floor has a living room and full kitchen which are common spaces during HVPI intensive workshops, which may be used by any of the participants during the program. The cost is for $80 for one person per room; $100 for two people in a room. There is also the Wellness Cottage with its own bathroom. The cost is $95 for one person, $115 for two.
Please note: space is only available onsite for participants in the workshops and trainings. We are unable to accommodate friends and family members. This includes the Wellness Cottage with the exception of someone with very young children. Alternative accommodations we can be found nearby.
Private rooms cannot be guaranteed. Health, mobility and gender issues play a part in
deciding who gets a single room. Early, paid registrations are prioritized. Boughton Place
will do its very best to accommodate you, but single rooms cannot be guaranteed until two
weeks before the workshops. If you pay for a single and there is no single available,
Boughton Place will reimburse you for the difference.
Intensives: Please note that all bedroom spaces and living rooms may be used several times
for breakout rooms in which two-three people will practice skills. If this will make you
uncomfortable, you might want to consider staying elsewhere.

Payment for accommodations must be made at time of reservation BEFORE workshop
commences and is not refundable without two weeks’ notice unless the bed can be filled. The
earlier you reserve and pay for your bed the more likely you will get your choice of rooms.
However, please do not make reservations more than 12 weeks early. Contact us if you need
to confirm overnight accommodations because you are traveling from afar.
If you want to come a day or two early or stay a day or two late, Boughton Place can usually
accommodate you overnight before and after the workshop

The Hudson Valley is beautiful and historic. We are minutes away from Vanderbilt Mansion,
Hyde Park, FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt’s Home, the town of Woodstock, the Catskill
Mountains, the historic town of New Paltz, etc….and an easy 1 1⁄2 hour train ride into
Manhattan. We are very close to the Hudson Valley Rail Trail where you can bicycle, jog, walk
for miles in two directions including across the Walkway over the Hudson River.

Hampton Inn in New Paltz. It is the most expensive of the motels in the area.. It is also the nicest of the motels in the area by reviews. Phone: (845) 255-4200
The following motels are nothing fancy, budget hotels. Please check trip advisor for current reviews. Some will offer a better deal if you tell them you are a student and will be staying for four or five nights.
Rodeway Inn is about a mile away from Boughton Place. HVPI students receive a small discount. Call the hotel directly (845) 883-7373 and ask for Dave or Sunny to inquire about the discount.
Americas Best Value Inn New Paltz right in New Paltz, about three miles away from Boughton Place We suggest you contact them directly rather than use the website. Ask about extended stay rates. Phone: (845) 255-8865
Many major Motel chains (Holiday Inn, Marriott, Best Western, Days Inn, etc.) have properties in Poughkeepsie which is about 20-30 minutes away).
BED and BREAKFASTS
There are many bed and breakfasts in the area. Please consider the driving time as the ‘area” is quite large. This is especially true in the winter when icy roads can make driving on rural roads challenging.
