The use of group ritual and structures for safety and containment will be demonstrated. Ways to address the difficulties inherent in using psychodrama with children will be discussed.

This training
offers 16 Continuing Education Credits towards
national credentialing by National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC),
National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC),
NYS OASAS, and towards re-certification requirements for the National
Registry of Group Psychotherapists. This training offers hours towards
certification by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry
and Group Psychotherapy (ASGPP) and is accepted toward credentialing
by the National Drama Therapy Association and the American Society for
Experiential Therapists. Many of our students who are social workers
have had these hours accepted towards their social work CEU requirements,
but that is on a state by state basis. TRAINER BIO
Rebecca Walters,M.S., TEP*, LMHC, LCAT is the founder and co-director of the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute in New Paltz, NY since 1989. She is the Director of Adolescent and Child Psychodrama Services at Four Winds Psychiatric Hospital in Westchester, NY, where she currently runs six psychodrama groups a week. She is also the director of the psychodrama internship program at Four Winds. Rebecca has run psychodrama groups with children, adolescents and adults since 1976. Rebecca Walters is a Fellow of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama, and along with Judy Swallow was the recipient of the ASGPP 2005 Collaborators Award for her work in the fields of psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy. She is certified as a *Trainer, Educator and Practitioner by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. She is licensed in NYS as a Creative Arts Therapist and as a Mental Health Counselor. As a trainer
